Director, Network Development and Management

About the Peterson Center on Healthcare

The Peterson Center on Healthcare is a non-profit organization dedicated to making higher quality, more affordable healthcare a reality for all Americans. The organization is working to transform U.S. healthcare into a high-performance system by finding innovative solutions that improve quality and lower costs, and accelerating their adoption on a national scale. Established by the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, the Center collaborates with stakeholders across the healthcare system and engages in grant-making, partnerships, and research.

The Position

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and located in New York, N.Y., the Director of Network Development and Management will have two main responsibilities:

  • To create and manage organizational networks, including healthcare systems, payers, collaboratives, employers or other networks, who will work to facilitate adoption of high-performance care models across the U.S. healthcare system
  • To build, grow and manage a networked community of national, regional and local healthcare professionals interested in the implementation of healthcare delivery improvement

The successful candidate will create and manage relationships between the Center, networks of health systems and a community of healthcare professionals focused on system improvement.

The main responsibilities of the job include:

  • Identifying organizational networks, including healthcare systems, payers, collaboratives, employers or other network systems, that could support the Center’s efforts to scale models of care that improve quality of care and lower costs
  • Develop an assessment method and tools to understand capabilities for a network to drive quality and cost improvement
  • Establish and communicate the value proposition for networks to engage with the Center in efforts to spread high-performance models of care
  • Performing analyses of network partner organizations to inform the Center’s market and outreach strategy
  • Design an infrastructure to support a rapidly expanding network of organizational relationships and interactions
  • Designing policies and terms of engagement with network organizations
  • Developing a relationship management program and performance assessment tools
  • Monitoring trends among healthcare provider networks that could impact the Center’s work
  • Recruiting healthcare professionals at various levels (nationally recognized, regional influencers and grasstops/root level) into a national network
  • Developing online and offline programs to drive interaction and connectivity among members
  • Developing content to support learning and skills development among network members
  • Designing strategies to drive uptake and usage of content developed by the Center to improve healthcare delivery

The Person

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Ability to identify and develop new partnership opportunities
  • Track record of building and maintaining business relationships
  • Ability to conduct and manage complex organizational mapping exercises to inform marketing and engagement strategies
  • A deep understanding of how to build and manage online and offline communities
  • Experience increasing online community participation from initial interest to online engagement to offline activity
  • Experience developing programs to support offline and online knowledge transfer including conferences, seminars, online meet-ups
  • Experience developing content and programs for national elites as well as grasstops/roots
  • Campaign development and implementation skills
  • Excellent project management and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent presentation skills, ability to communicate and excellent listening skills
  • Experience in healthcare is desired, but not required

Qualifications:

  • 7–10+ years of experience in developing strategic partnerships, community or professional network development, engagement and activation
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred
  • Passion for social entrepreneurship and improving healthcare
