Joshua Bennett

Joshua Bennett is a family physician who has been with Premier for the past five years and has 30 years of clinical and managed care experience from his roles as a practicing physician, physician educator and physician executive. He has served in leadership roles in both provider-owned and for-profit health plans during his career. He has deep expertise in patient safety, claims and coding, quality of care, credentialing, care management, utilization management and Medicare regulations.

Most recently, Dr. Bennett was senior vice president of network and market functions for Bravo Health, a privately held MedicareAdvantage Plan (recently purchased by HealthSpring, Inc.). Previously he held a vice president position at HealthAmerica (a Coventry company and now Aetna), where he was responsible for medical informatics, quality, credentialing, appeals and grievances, and preauthorization. He is a NCQA Surveyor with expertise in health plans, Accountable Care Organizations and Patient Centered Medical Home recognition. He is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, received his BS degree from Penn State University, and his MBA in Healthcare Systems Management from DeSales University. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and a Vanguard member of the American College of Physician Executives.
